After OneNote, released about two weeks ago, comes on Amazon the seventh application developed by Microsoft. OneDrive is now also available for Kindle Fire and Fire Phone , the two devices company based in Seattle Android . The cloud storage service then becomes compatible with all devices and operating systems, thus confirming its nature multi-platform. Recently, the free storage space has been increased to 15 GB. Subscribers to Office 365, however, also come with 1 TB.

Since OneNote stores notes OneDrive , the arrival of the app sull’Ammazon Appstore was granted. In addition to notebooks, online users can save their documents, pictures and videos, share them with friends and of course view them on the Kindle Fire and Fire Phone. Amazon devices use a customized version of Android (Fire OS), and Microsoft has worked hard to bring OneDrive on the store company headed by Jeff Bezos. In fact, the description of the application and the list of features are identical to those published on the Google Play Store:

  • Explore all your files OneDrive, both personal and those shared with you
  • Share file by inviting people, by posting links or by sending files to another app
  • Open your files with other OneDrive app
  • Quick access to documents open recent
  • Automatic loading of photos and video in OneDrive thanks to the backup feature of the camera
  • Selecting multiple files for download
  • Search for files and folders
  • Sorting files and folders

The number of Microsoft apps compatible with the Kindle Fire and the Fire Phone is likely to increase in the coming months. Likely the arrival of Outlook Web App, available on the Android mid-June, and the touch version of Office.

Sony abandons the e-book readers: the Kindle has won – Tom’s Hardware

->

Sony Reader PRS-T3 will be the ultimate e-book reader of the Japanese giant. The company has confirmed that the model available in Europe since last fall conclude the series and the commitment in the field of e-book . In short, discontinued production and sales while stocks last.

Sony Reader PRS-T3

Although Sony has been a pioneer with e-ink reader, thanks to the Sony Librie of 2004, he co-developed the first 6-inch E Ink, which is supported by the first and combined Epub e-ink, touch and front lighting for the PRS-700 in 2008, the season is come to an end.

Decided to give way to competition and surrender to Kindle Paperwhite , an established leader in the segment. In terms of hardware you are always well protected but the Sony Reader Store and PC software did not bring the expected results. Also difficult to justify some price lists, especially with the battle started between Kindle and Nook.

Farewell Sony reader; shame about the competition in the market.

What Kindle Unlimited – The Post

Amazon

Friday, July 18, the company known e-commerce and digital services, has launched a new service for the price of a monthly subscription will allow you to download free ebooks and audiobooks from a catalog of more than 600 thousand different titles. The service is called Unlimited Kindle and costs $ 9.99 per month (about seven Euros). For now it is only available in the United States. Among the books available there are some best sellers such as the Harry Potter series, the Lord of the Rings and The Hunger Games. But there are also books of “niche”, such as “King Leopold’s Ghost: A Story of Greed, Terror, and Heroism in Colonial Africa,” a book on the domain Belgian Congo in the late nineteenth century.

For the moment it seems that the securities are provided in languages other than English. In the service contract, Amazon does not guarantee a minimum number of titles available in the catalog of Kindle Unlimited and reserves the right to add or remove books from the catalog to his liking (here you can find all the titles currently available). The service seems still in evidence and, as they wrote some users on Reddit, there are problems in particular on audio books (some seem to be available from the catalog Unlimited, while it seems to be bought separately).

The new Amazon service is not new on the market platforms such as Scribd, Oyster and Bookmate already offer a similar service at lower prices, but for the moment seems to offer a Kindle Unlimited catalog wider and a higher number of best sellers.
