iFixit has recently got their hands on the tablet Amazon Kindle Fire 7-inch HDX to perform disassembly component by component in order to assess the quality of assembly and feasibility of possible repairs.

The motherboard then in turn is a challenge worthy of note, and requires the separation of the display from its frame to be reinstalled.
