The new contracts bringing down the Amazon Kindle ebook sales in the United States. This was revealed in an article in the Wall Street Journal. Penguin Random House, controlled by Bertelsmann SE, has instead maintained the contract, which came into force on September 1.

The precise impact of offers of Amazon, whose dominant role in the sales of books is undisputed, is still the subject of debate within company. The decline in sales could be – in part – due to a lackluster replenishment of new titles. But some publishing executives say that to discourage the purchase eReader, is increasing prices by Amazon.

According to the report of Statshot, Association that collects sales data publishers in the United States in the first five months of 2015, revenue for the publisher fell: the adult titles have lost 10.4%, a percentage equal to 583 million dollars. Sales of e-readers, only in the first half of this year fell by 24%.
