31/08/2016 – Amazon offers Kindle, the e-reader more popular with those who like to read in digital. Only a few days ago, on the 24th of August, the known u.s. company has announced its new project called Kindle Reading Fund. Born with the aim of promoting reading and, at the same time, making digital more accessible to the world. The intention is to donate a large number of Kindle, tablets Fire, and millions of e-books to developing countries in collaboration with various organisations, including Worldwidereader, with whom he already collaborated in the past.
Recently, the latter has worked with Amazon to project LEAP 2.0, thanks to which a good 61 libraries of Kenya, and about 500,000 of its inhabitants have been able to benefit from the e-book. The Worldwidereader, moreover, can boast of having made in such a way that, in the past 6 years, a large amount of books has reached over 4 million people. These numbers are impressive, considering that in some countries the culture is not, unfortunately, promoted, and young people today’s interest in reading. Just think of the dozens of libraries that are closing every year.
Amazon promotes reading and, just like the Worldwidereader, it is not the first time and will not be the last. The company has donated and continues to donate thousands of e-books of all kinds to students and teachers. In collaboration with the National PTA, in addition, is working on a project that sees the involvement of the parents in a reading program called Family Reading Experience. Family support is very important in the formation of the children, then the hope is that this initiative is drawing a great success. Children are the future and, luckily, Amazon knows this well and brings a help is not indifferent.
If this were not enough, it is sufficient to mention some of the other institutions at which Amazon offers the Kindle.
