Into Kindle Paperwhite (the official name remains that, there are suffixes) is a 6-inch E-Ink Pearl with a pixel density of 212 PPI and therefore with a resolution of 1024 x 758 pixels. From this point of view nothing changes compared to the 2012 model, although Amazon speaks of deeper blacks and higher contrast, it is probably a result obtained by software, not hardware. It evolves the lighting system (patented) used by the company, there are no new technical information to be mentioned – and there are not any actual photos to look at – but the new one is described as better, more white, more homogeneous than the last. After all, Kobo has demonstrated with Aura HD that you can get excellent results from this system.
Into The new Kindle uses a faster processor (25%, it seems) and a touchscreen more sensitive (sensitivity 19% more) and on paper allows a user experience very similar to that of the tablet industry (at least in the most important movements, suc h as the slide and the use of multitouch to manage and PDF format). For the rest, we have 2 GB of internal space (1.25 GB for the user + space for the contents Amazon cloud), 2 months of battery life and a slightly lighter than the previous frame (206 grams). By rendering, the design looks identical to the current, among other very similar to a Nexus 7, 2013. Into Kindle Paperwhite 2013 is a retouched version of the model came out a year ago. The hardware changes are not the only (there are new software: integration with Goodreads, the evolution of Freetime and other goodies for the management of pages, paragraphs, dictionaries and notes) but we can say that there was a real evolution. No E-Ink panel 2048 × 1536 pixels and no news to justify an upgrade for those who already have a Paperwhite. At least on paper. Into Updated: integration Goodreads will not work in the Italian version. We’ll have to see and test the new screen, the new reactivity and software changes. Certainly remain the most eReader sold and what better supported, so how can we give to a certain level of quality construction and a screen “white.” A 129 euro, however, will inevitably compare Kobo Kobo Aura and Aura HD, but also with Sony PRS-T3 – which basically uses the same resolution. We’ll see. I’ve just ordered one .
