 Kindle as a thermometer

read on Hack a Day that is You can “convert” an Amazon Kindle in a thermometer with a few simple steps. What we need is a jailbroken Kindle 4 eReader, on which you can view the ambient temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit on the screen with a large font. How can an ebook-reader detect the temperature? The Kindle has a temperature sensor to monitor the CPU freescale integrated, and since the chip will not be subjected to any work load, its temperature will be very close to that of the environment.

The software controls the temperature of each minute and displays on the screen. E ‘can also plot a graph of temperature newer or connect to the Kindle over a local network to view the temperatures on your computer thanks to a built-in web server software. A similar hack does not definitively transformed the ebook-reader, so that you can close the app and return to the thermometer ebook reader, pressing a button or a maximum of restarting the device to wake the WiFi.
