The market for tablet on the wane, aided by the boom of smartphones big size , the so-called phablet, like the iPhone 6 Plus or Samsung notes. The 76.1 million devices sold in the fourth quarter of 2014 were 3.2 percent less than the same period a year earlier, according to research firm IDC. The entire 2014 was still closed in growth with a rise of 4.4 percent, to 229.6 million pieces seen.

The quarterly decline is significant because it is the first since, in fact, the industry was born with the launch of Apple’s iPad, in 2010. Sales of the tablet’s California home marked a contraction 17.8 percent on an annual basis, while maintaining the highest market share with 21.4 million units (33.1% of the total).

The largest decline involved the Amazon Kindle Fire, nearly a 70% less with only 1.7 million devices sold. For the Korean Samsung sales were down by 18.4 percent to 11 million devices. Specularly increased sales of other manufacturers, mainly Chinese: +36.2 percent to 35.2 million units (all put together occupy 32.8 percent of the market).
