Pocketbook has launched two new ebook-reader entry-level in Russia, under a new brand: Reader Book 1 and Reader Book 2 not surprising for their design rather banal, albeit slim, lightweight ( 9 mm thick and 140 grams weight), but which would please users looking for an ebook -reader statement.

Pocketbook Reader Book 1 has a screen 6-inch E-Ink Pearl resolution 1024 x 758 pixels (250 PPI) , neither touch nor Frontlight, with d-pad down for navigation, while Pocketbook Reader Book 2 has a display of 6-inch E-Ink Pearl lower resolution (800 x 600 pixels, 166 PPI) but touchscreen (and not Frontlight). Both models feature a 1GHz processor with 4GB of internal memory, expandable with a microSD card slot and a 1000mAh battery . Run on Linux . According to what we read in the data sheet, either device is equipped with speakers and built-in WiFi, but support various ebook formats (EPUB, PDF, FB2, Mobi, Djvu) and documents (doc, chm, txt, rtf, html ). The first model is sold in Russia at 5999 rubles (84 euro exchange rate), while the other is priced 6999 rubles (98 euro exchange rate).

In short, it is no mystery: Pocketbook Reader Reader Book 1 and Book 2 look set to compete with one of the most popular ebook-reader and economic circulation, what undoubtedly will be for Christmas blockbuster. We speak of course of the Amazon Kindle, currently on sale in Italy at a price of 69 euro, which has much in common with models Pocketbook: has the same display, the same size (in fact it is also heavier and often) and practically the same functions. In addition, however, has the touch screen and a WiFi module, and that is enough to convince us to choose it again.
