Luca Pierattini

Eight years ago Amazon has introduced Kindle making it possible, for the first time, think of a book and start reading it in a matter of seconds. Over the years, the Seattle company’s goal was to try to shift the focus from the device to the content to let the reader would be able to immerse in the story without thinking of anything else. Why Amazon has launched new e-reader ever smaller, lighter and faster.

 Kindle Oasis

the eighth generation digital book reader, the Kindle Oasis , is the last piece of the evolutionary development being the thinnest and lightest ever , from completely new design and also comes with a carrying case with rechargeable battery that provides months of battery life on the device. “To get comfortable and read for hours must be a refuge from the distractions. We want Kindle to disappear in your hands and Kindle Oasis is the biggest step toward the fulfillment of our mission. Kindle is the most advanced we’ve ever built: it disappears before your eyes so you can get lost in the world imagined by the author, “says Jeff Bezos , CEO of Amazon.

Offering an incredibly thin display and an ergonomic handle, Oasis weighs only 131 grams and has a thickness of 3.4 mm at its thinnest point. Compared to other models it is thinner on average 30% lighter and of more than 20%. To obtain this result, it has been equipped with a very light frame in the polymer infused metal through a structural electroplating process. This allows the device to be incredibly light and at the same time to offer the strength and rigidity of metal to make it tough enough to be always brought with him. The biggest news is the Double Battery: internal to the Kindle and guaranteed by rechargeable case with a cell structure that allows the optimization of the power and energy with the ability to charge them both at the same time .

the Oasis does everything to resemble a book : you can move the center of gravity in the palm causing the device rests on the hand as would the back of a book, thus resulting perfectly balanced for reading with one hand , allowing you to take you around the page and with the touch display with the physical button. A sensor is able to recognize that the hand you are holding e-reader, and automatically rotates the page orientation, and button functions for the picture change. The point of the Amazon product strength, the screen Paperwhite , has been updated while maintaining the ability to play back a text with the same precision and quality typography of a book in print, but redesigning the integrated light 60% of LEDs to make the brighter screen always among the Kindle. The price is not cheap (289 Euros) but gives access to one of the most advanced digital players ever.
