Amazon, here is how the new Kindle Oasis
a few days before the official announcement, a leak has unveiled the design and features of the next digital book reader of Jeff Bezos. Here’s what to expect
the official announcement was due to arrive this week but, as often happens on the Net, some information has already leaked: according to the news coming from Japan next Kindle, the line of targati Amazon e-reader, will be called Oasis. The most striking novelty of this model for the design, with a kind of “handle” on the right (or left, depending on the direction) that should facilitate the gadget handle with one hand. The display has a resolution of 300ppi, for text and high definition images, while the backlight system has been refined to ensure better reading experience even in the dark.
The other big innovation is the cover, which includes within it a rechargeable battery: connected to the Kindle through a magnetic system, the housing should provide up to 20 months in standby, a record figure but seen before from now on a gadget like that. And to further extend the reading time, once disconnected from the Kindle use Oasis before this charge inside of the cover and then switch to its internal battery.
Despite the name, it seems, however, that Oasis will be neither waterproof nor water resistant, a feature that Amazon users are waiting for a long time. And given that there is still no news on the price, it remains to be seen whether this new Kindle will replace the top model range or Voyager will add to the already large family of e-readers of Jeff Bezos. Between a book and the other, we just have to wait for the official announcement.
