And the U.S. Ambassador swore on Kindle Photo – Corriere della Sera

The new U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Lichtenstein, Suzi LeVine, was the first to swear on diplomatic A Kindle. The 44 year old with a passion for technology, and in the past has worked, among other things for Microsoft and Expedia, was sworn in Westminster (London) in front of the son, the husband and the U.S. Vice President, Joe Biden. And, as I said, on an e-reader from Amazon.

If the Bible is not found …

not on the Bible and even the U.S. Constitution (in paper form), but on a Kindle Touch. On Monday, the new U.S. Ambassador in Bern has placed his left hand on the electronic copy of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920 that guarantees women the right to vote. In the past, other U.S. government officials had opted for an electronic device: in January, the head of the board of the Nassau County (New York), Ed Mangano, had sworn on the Bible “written” on an iPad because it was not found time a hard copy of the Holy Scriptures. Same thing happened in February for a group of firefighters in Atlantic City during a promotion ceremony. Perhaps, when even the Glass Google will be a custom, government officials get their hands on a Bible or a Constitution virtual projected directly into their eyes.
