Amazon Echo, the speaker smart now reads Kindle ebooks – Macity (Blog)

As well as allowing you to place orders on Amazon, play music, control the lights through voice commands, Amazon Echo now also reads books Kindle

Owners of Amazon Echo from now can use the speaker smart home also for reading digital books Kindle.

The news is reported within the “Things to try” in the page assistance and customer service Amazon dedicated to the device, which lists voice commands by voice pronounce the assistant Alexa to start listening to the reading of an ebook purchased from the Kindle Store, in the library shared with family or available through ‘ Kindle Unlimited subscription.

The software reads the books through the same technology used text-to-speech for reading Wikipedia articles, news and events calendar. This means that you will not have obviously expect the same quality achieved by listening to an audio book, however, if the speech is not a problem for you, you will have a similar function and without having to buy back the book.

Amazon Echo, remember, is currently available only for customers Amazon Americans. We do not know when and if the company decides to distribute the device in other countries.
