Amazon, urgent update for previous Kindle 2013 – Wired.it

In the absence of this urgent update the previous Kindle to 2013 now no longer will connect to the digital store

Kindle

If you have a previous Kindle Paperwhite to the sixth-generation (2013) you have to proceed with a critical update, without which the device will not be able to access the cloud or to the network to download the ebook, returning the message “ your Kindle can not connect. Make sure it’s connected to a wireless network “.

The e-reader to be updated are :

  • Kindle 1 a Generation (2007)
  • Kindle 2 a Generation (2009)
  • Kindle DX, 2 a Generation ( 2009)
  • Kindle Keyboard 3 a Generation (2010)
  • Kindle 4 a Generation (2011)
  • Kindle Touch 4 a Generation (2011)
  • Kindle Paperwhite 5 a Generation (2012)

the update must be done using the Wi-Fi coverage, even if you have a device with a 3G module. If during the last hours you have turned on your Kindle you should have received the update , but if you did not and you can not connect to the network, you can follow the instructions that Amazon has published on this page, from which you can simply select the model you own, download the update and transfer via uSB from your PC or your Mac .

In the official communiqué Amazon has not revealed why has necessitated an upgrade so urgent.
