Amazon to work on the new Kindle Paperwhite display with 300ppi - HDblog (Blog)

Kindle Paperwhite (2)

After months of relative silence here come the first rumors about the new Kindle Paperwhite , eReaders next generation will have to make need some new important feature in addition to light the perimeter. The preparation of Techcrunch could take a look at the prototype in the works for next year, a different device for aesthetics and materials, presumably ready by Q2 2014 : display with a resolution of 300ppi (current 212ppi) and glass instead of plastic, flush with the frame.

The Kindle, code-named Ice Wine should, therefore, become the most resolute of the whole class, they are just over 265ppi of Kobo, but no particular new software seems to accompany this debut. Higher resolution and optimization of the texts will lead to a greater legibility, but no one dreams a color Kindle within the next six months, to be a priority at the moment is the low cost to the end user.

The design may significantly change compared to the current version, with more marked lines as in Kindle Fire tablets HDX ( our review here ), but there is no picture leaked yet emerged that there may clarify the general plot. We speak of course of a better lighting Perimeter E-Ink display , the current generation has suffered from some trouble on several models, there may also be a sensor that can automatically adjust the intensity, just as already takes place on smartphones and tablets. There is still plenty of time before the launch, we are confident that competition will not be watching.
