Amazon.com studying service payment via Kindle for physical stores - America24

Amazon.com broadens their horizons and think of a system of payments: offer retailers the opportunity to pay for products using the Kindle, tablet giant of online commerce. This was announced by the CEO of the company in Seattle, Jeff Bezos, during a press conference in New York.

The new system should be ready by this summer. Amazon Kindle expected to deliver to traders of credit cards and readers, as well as any other services such as website development and data analysis. To complete the project, last year the company has invested in new technology and hired engineers GoPago, a startup based in San Francisco, which has already resulted in payment systems linked to smartphone app.

Amazon in this way would come in physical stores, which catalyze still 90% of the national trade. The online retailer, however, should come to terms with suppliers of payment systems for physical stores much more consolidated, which is why inizialamente could focus on smaller retailers.

Amazon already has the credit card data of more than 230 million users, more than 142.6 million of PayPal, but does not have experience on payment systems used in physical stores. To expedite the payments could create a wallet “mobile”, where to store the information of the credit cards to its customers.
