Scout with Kindle readers to decide which book will be published by … – Planet eBook

Kindle Scout

The program crowd-sourcing Amazon , Kindle Scout , has recently opened its doors to the authors , and apparently, it will soon be available also to the reader .

For the benefit of those who do not yet have heard of, Kindle Scout is a new program publication “hybrid” launched Amazon . The authors can submit their work for approval of the program from Amazon (including the complete manuscript, the cover, the author’s biography and description), and if it is accepted by breeders of the program, the same is made available to the public review . Readers will have 30 days to read the text, song or book it, and comment on it.

And after that?

At present it is not clear what the next steps. Theoretically Kindle Press , the new Amazon’s publishing imprint , will consider nominations from readers and could get to offer a publishing contract for five years in the case of particularly positive feedback .

The program, however, is in its initial stage and are not available to the state elements nor to fully understand the mechanisms that will be applied neither to imagine what his real chance of success.

What is most likely is that authors , more or less famous, they will not miss their membership.

Benjamin Sobieck , for example, announced through his blog that his latest novel “The Invisible Hand” was recently accepted into the program, and less than twenty-four hours, we plan to spread its campaign for review and judgment on the part of readers.

Sobieck has explained the reasons for its choice summarizing them in two places key:

The ability to be published with Kindle Press offers a good chance to get excellent profits on sales in a short time , since the Amazon’s marketing is very effective in distributing e-books within its ecosystem and, in addition, the process of submission and approval is faster than that faced by in relation to any other editor .

A few (legitimate) question more, however, concerns the slope readers. In particular, it is difficult to predict how many, especially in the early stages, will be attracted by the opportunity to review and may be examined as to their judgment.

What is certain, though, is that despite the plethora of outstanding issues in this first part, once again Amazon takes the field with an innovative and ahead of potential competitors.
